THE KILLING FIELDS OF DR HAING S NGOR chronicles the life, times & murder of Dr. Ngor, a Cambodian genocide survivor and Oscar-winning actor.

The Haing Ngor Film Project follows a chronological trajectory that tracks Ngor’s lifetime, from the year of his birth in 1940 to the time of his disconcerting murder in 1996. Jumping forward to 2012, Ngor’s legacy lives on at the current –and politically contentious– Khmer Rouge Tribunal, which he staunchly advocated and campaigned for in order to bring war criminals to justice. Of note will be the a 2009 session when Duch, the notorious warden of the Tuol Sleng torture camp, claimed: “Haing Ngor was killed because he appeared in the film The Killing Fields.”
